Not what we were expecting
The circumstances of 2020 affected us all in ways ranging from minor inconveniences to major upheaval in our way of life. We’ve all missed spending time with family and friends, and enjoying our favorite restaurants and activities. Does anyone else miss hot dogs and beer at a live baseball game in a packed stadium? We’ve had to adjust to the new world of working remotely, and some of us have added the job of school teacher to our resumes.
That’s if we were lucky.
What first appeared to be a temporary lull in our economy soon proved itself to be a long-term drag.2 Jobs in many sectors disappeared as businesses were unable to adapt or sustain the new economic reality. Many dual-income families found themselves left with one or none at all. Businesses whose model could not transition to digital closed their doors for good. Many graduating college students found themselves unable to secure a career in their chosen field.
Again, not what we were expecting
The big surprise, though, has been those industries that, although certainly affected by the pandemic, have not only managed to stay in business but thrive amid continuing uncertainty.2 Whether they have been able to continue with their traditional methods of doing business or have been able to modify their processes to work in our new environment, some companies are posting a record year in 2020.
Globe Life American Income Division is grateful to be one of those companies. Our executive management team was able to react quickly to pivot our entire business model to digital in literally a matter of days. There were no furloughs, no layoffs. Rather than operating at a reduced capacity, we found that the virtual model we adopted was embraced by our independently-contacted sales agents and our customers alike. The Company posted 11 consecutive record months and the best sales year in our company history. This growth was also reflected in a record increase in the members of our sales force. In an economy where businesses are failing every day, we continue to offer Opportunity Unlimited to those starting their career journey and those who are looking for a fresh start.

Merit-based income means you are paid based on your own efforts, not a salary scale. You are paid what you earn with no ceiling or cap on the amount you can earn. You are also upwardly mobile because promotions are made from within, and promotions are also based on merit rather than a set timetable. That’s why we call it Opportunity Unlimited!Opportunities to make additional income
Most people estimate life insurance costs three times more than it actually does. In addition to merit-based income, there are also multiple opportunities to earn financial bonuses through various programs. The most intriguing aspect of agent compensation is earning residual income (renewals). Put simply, after meeting company requirements, agents are paid each month for policies they have written in the past, for as long as the premiums are paid on that policy. Very few other careers have residual income.Help working families
One of the most rewarding aspects of a life insurance career with AIL is the knowledge that with every sale you make, you are helping to protect working families from the financial devastation that can occur when an income earner dies. Our products can help pay for the deceased’s final expenses, replace lost income, the family's mortgage, and the children’s education. What we do makes a difference.Dynamic, positive culture
As one of our agents put it, “The people in my office started out as co-workers then we became friends and now we’re family.” Help and encouragement are available from people who have been there, done that. And more …
